The Cape Wildlife Center currently has six year-round staff positions.
Robbie Fearn, director, leads the center's work with and for wildlife, and its efforts to help fellow Cape Codders live more peacefully with their wild neighbors. Fearn has a background in environmental education and sea turtle conservation.
Judy Ellal is a certified veterinary technician and wildlife rehabilitator who ensures the proper husbandry and care of wildlife patients, and oversees the volunteer program.
In addition to managing the center's administrative needs, administrative assistant Nancy Hunley answers the telephone hotline, helping Cape Cod residents and visitors to coexist humanely with their wild animal neighbors.
Property manager Paul Murphy handles the center's maintenance and repair.
Jo-Anne Yereniuk is the clinic hygienist. She ensures a high level of cleanliness in the hospital facility.
Staff veterinarian Dr. Katie Brown recently left the center after four years of dedicated service. We are now accepting applications for the staff veterinarian position.
Each year, from April to October, the center hires four paid seasonal staff to care for wildlife orphans and other patients who arrive in larger number during the warmer months. These people come from all over the country; they may have backgrounds in veterinary medicine, biology, or veterinary technology. And while their names and experiences vary each year, seasonal staff are all steadfast in their commitment to caring for the center's wildlife patients.
The center's intensely dedicated, year-round volunteers and student externs (who, like seasonal staff, work from April through October) are a very important part of the staff.
