FORT WORTH, Texas -The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for drowning a domestic rabbit in Mesa, Ariz. earlier this month.
The Case:
According to the Mesa Police animal control, a white-and-brown domesticated rabbit was found in a canal near Gilbert and McKellips roads on April 6. Duct tape covered the rabbit's head, ears, neck, and front legs and the rabbit's rear legs were tied to a brick. Officials believe the rabbit underwater for less than 24 hours.
The Mesa Public Safety Foundation is offering an additional $250 reward in this case.
