TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for mutilating a cat found on Friday, July 21st, in Columbia, S.C. This reward is in addition to a reward of $1,400 raised by the The Humane SPCA of Columbia, bringing the total potential reward to almost $4,000.
The Case:
According to the WLTX-TV News19 and The Humane SPCA of Columbia, the severely mutilated body of Pedro, a three-year-old white, silver and black cat, was found by his family in a neighbor's driveway in the Woodlands Ridge subdivision near Spring Valley High School on July 21. Pedro had been disemboweled and partially skinned with a sharp instrument.
