DALLAS — The Harder Beat Magazine will host a benefit concert
for The Humane Society of the United States Spay Neuter Clinic
and Animal Wellness Center at the Lone Star Country Club in
Coppell, this Saturday, May 11. Proceeds benefit the Dennis
White Memorial Fund that subsidizes services including
vaccinations, minor medical treatment and spay/neuter surgeries
for pets of people who have little or no income.
Bands donating their time and talent to the event include
Thyme, Ventt, Xphyxia, Aggressive Christine and Drive.
Operation Kindness and Animal Connection of Texas will have
booths at the show. The concert begins at 7 p.m. on the Club’s
outside stage.
“Please make an appearance and enjoy this loud, fun-filled
evening with us,” said Lou Guyton, director of The Humane
Society of the United States (HSUS) Southwest Regional Office
and Spay-Neuter Clinic in Dallas. “The spay/neuter clinic
operates each year at a substantial deficit, and if we are
going to do more for this community, we need to raise funds,”
Guyton said. “If you think you are a little too old to have
that much fun, then please send your adult kids!” she
added.
The HSUS Spay Neuter Clinic opened in January 2001, offering
subsidized spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations and other
wellness services. The clinic performed about 8,000 spay/neuter
operations last year. The clinic’s mission is to serve the
animal and human communities of the Dallas area and to reduce
pet overpopulation in Dallas. The HSUS Southwest Regional
Office serves the states of Arizona, Utah, Colorado, New
Mexico, Arizona, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.
