Animal House Style: Designing a Home to Share With Your Pets |
by Julia Szabo
In the homes shared by these animals, no pet is ever given up for shedding on the couch. In fact, Animal House Style is packed with design tips on everything from the best fabrics for a pet-loving home to furnishings made for human and animal comfort without sacrificing great taste. Fabulous interiors of the homes of notables such as fashion designer Todd Oldham are shown in 190 full-color photographs. (Sadly, Timmy Haskell, a friend of the author who is seen in more than one photo, was one of the firefighters killed in the World Trade Center attacks. The book was published only days before 9/11/2001.)
Julia Szabo is the current "Pets" columnist for the Sunday New York Post, a former columnist for Elle Décor, and a frequent contributor to House Beautiful, the New York Times Magazine, and Travel & Leisure. She is also a contributor to The HSUS. HSUS Senior Vice President Martha Armstrong wrote the introduction, and actress and animal activist Mary Tyler Moore wrote the foreword.
