The HSUS is proud to announce the Second Annual Dogs of Valor Awards, sponsored by PetPlan Pet Insurance. This award celebrates dogs who have exhibited an extraordinary sense of courage by heroically helping a person in need.

Last year we were touched by story after story of selfless heroism. Although each tale had its own unique twist, they all shared a common theme of the remarkable bond we share with dogs. One such dog was Anna, who amazingly saved her guardian’s life not once, but twice.
Do you know a dog who has acted valiantly to protect a human life? Have you read about a heroic dog who touched your heart? Has a courageous dog saved your life?
If the answer is yes, he may be our next Dog of Valor!
Fifteen heroic Finalists will be selected from the nominations, and the winners will be chosen by our panel of celebity judges:
- Big-screen dog of valor, Benji
- "America's Favorite Animal Artist", Ron Burns
- Professional race car champion, Randy Pobst
- TV's courtroom animal advocate, Judge David Young
