Asking for Sportsmanship

It just isn't sporting to shoot semi-tame animals held captive in fenced enclosures. The Sportsmanship in Hunting Act of 2008 was introduced in the Senate April 24 to stop interstate commerce in exotic animals for this inhumane purpose.

At captive shoots, also known as canned hunts, some wealthy, lazy hunters pay large sums at private "game farms" to kill tame, captive, exotic animals—even endangered species. The animals are sure to become trophies, since they have no chance of escape. At these facilities, a large wallet takes the place of any pretense of fair chase.
