| Mari Hulman George (center) joined Cindy Myers and Mark Kumpf, top bidders for last year's Indy 500 packages. |
Her gift packs a lot of horsepower: For the second year, HSUS supporter and Indianapolis Motor Speedway board chair Mari Hulman George is offering animal-loving racing fans a unique opportunity.
Through an online auction, George is donating racing packages to support our care of rescued horses and our efforts to protect horses from slaughter. The packages include luxury suite seats, hotel accommodations, a police escort to the race, and behind-the-scenes access to the 2008 Indianapolis 500 on May 25, the 2008 Allstate 400 at the Brickyard race on July 27, and the inaugural MotoGP race on Sept. 14.

| Winners in 2007, Richard and Rene Scott, had been to the Indy 500 more than 20 times, and exclaimed, "This is the best one yet." |
Last year's winning bidders, Cindy and Glen Myers, raved about their experience, "Everything, from the beautiful suite, fantastic food and drink, amazing access to the garage and pit areas and very fun police escort was just incredible! Our ride around the track in a pace car was the thrill of a lifetime! It was a spectacular trip we will always remember and gave us memories we will treasure, and on top of all that, we were supporting a wonderful charity in The Humane Society of the United States."
Proceeds from the eBay auction, which runs from March 4 to noon (EST) on March 14, benefit the rescue and care of horses such as Mari Mariah and Josie Sahara. Named after George and her daughter, who financed the pair’s rescue, Mari and Josie are living comfortably at the Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch, a Texas sanctuary that The HSUS operates in partnership with The Fund for Animals.
These special VIP packages are rare experiences. Or in the words of the Shenk family of Utah, who were top bidders in 2007, "Whoever wins these trips in the future are in for the ride of their life. It is worth every penny. You just have to experience it for yourself to understand the feeling. It was the best trip ever!"
