The Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association (HSVMA) was formed as a powerful new veterinary organization, combining the efforts of The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) with the Association of Veterinarians for Animal Rights (AVAR) to promote animal welfare and protection among the veterinary community.

For years, many veterinary professionals have been dissatisfied and frustrated with the industry-based positions that the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) have taken and are now looking for change.

We will be that powerful voice of change for those who want to speak out for animals, and educate the public and others in the profession about animal welfare and advocacy issues that affect our communities today.
