Piper the Yorkie was rescued from a Tennessee puppy mill © The HSUS |
Confined to a tiny cage and covered in filthy, matted fur, this little Yorkie had a rough start in life. But after being saved from a Tennessee puppy mill by The HSUS, she is now beginning life anew as a cherished family pet.
In her new home, the dog has had her first frolic in the grass and experienced the human affection that she missed for so long.
Her new mom reported that the feisty pup, now known as Piper, is adjusting well to the life of a pampered pet. She has also bonded with the family's disabled daughter—sleeping by her side and providing her with constant companionship.
It is hard for her new family to picture Piper's former life, but they have vowed that she will never want for anything again in her life. Piper has truly blossomed in her new home.
