October 23, 2007

Stephanie Womack's dress was People's Choice winner.
Think you know fashion better than Tim Gunn?

Test your eye for style by voting now in our third annual Cool vs. Cruel fashion design contest. Then see how the People's Choice winner you help select compares to the judges' (sartorial guru Tim Gunn among them) choice.

Thank You for Voting!

Voting is now closed.

The people have chosen Stephanie Womack's black dress, garment 2, as the best!

The second and third runners-up are Glenn M. Glass, garment 3, and Thitka Amy Putiwitayathorn, garment 10.

The judges have picked their winner, too.

For a third year, staff from The HSUS traveled to Art Institutes schools around the country to talk to fashion students about the problems associated with animal fur, including cruelty and false labeling. The students were shown four runway designs from fall 2007 that used animal fur and instructed to reinterpret and improve them without the cruelty.

Check out the finalists below and choose your favorite!

  1. Click on the photos below to see larger pictures of the designs, then select the best and click "Vote."

  2. Tell your friends to vote, too—cut and paste this link into an email: www.humanesociety.org/cvcvote07. The system will allow you to vote more than once, but any votes after the first one will be discarded, so send it to as many people as you know.

The People's Choice winner will be announced at the 2007 Cool vs. Cruel awards ceremony on Nov. 8, 2007, along with the official third-, second- and first-place contest winners. See last year's winners and learn more about the contest. Click here to learn more about the Art Institutes.
