MD Anderson operates under the University of Texas system and currently used chimpanzees to conduct research on Hepatitis B and C and HIV. Other investigations include diabetes, hypertension, obesity, vaccine development, aging, cellular immunology and behavior using chimpanzees. The lab also makes the chimpanzees available for drug testing by pharmaceutical companies.
