Reward Offered in Robertson County, Tenn. Horse Cruelty Case

August 28, 2007

The Humane Society of the United States is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for attacking a horse with an ax in Robertson County, Tenn.

The Case:

On August 15, a pet horse named Fancy was found by her owners with a tobacco ax embedded in her head just above her eyes. The ax was entrenched one half inch into her skull, just missing her brain and a major artery. Had the ax sliced the artery, the horse would have perished. Fancy was treated at the Robertson County Animal Clinic and is expected to recover. She is currently being housed at a secure boarding facility to heal. Fancy's attacker could face felony cruelty charges.
