August 17, 2007

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for disemboweling a dog during a robbery.

The Case:

During an early morning house robbery in Monticello, Ind., on August 3, Trish, a four-year-old rat terrier, was stabbed multiple times and ultimately disemboweled. Trish died shortly after her owner arrived home.

The unknown perpetrator caused extensive damage to the inside of the duplex. They took only some tools, NASCAR memorabilia and a jar containing about $30 in change. There are currently no leads and no explanation as to why the home was robbed and Trish was brutalized.
