October 25, 2007

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the brutal killing of two pet pigs in Plant City last week.

The Case:

On the morning of October 20, a Plant City family discovered their two pet baby pigs were brutally killed. The 13-year-old twin girls who cared for the pigs, named Rebel and Dixie, discovered their lifeless bodies inside their pen at 9:30 a.m. Police believe the perpetrator or perpetrators entered the pen sometime after 7:30 p.m. October 19, the last time pigs were seen alive, with one or more dogs who attacked the pigs. The pigs were also stabbed through their hearts with a sharp object.
