The Humane Society of the United States Statement on Michael Vick NFL Suspension

August 24, 2007

The Humane Society of the United States released the following statement in reaction to Michael Vick's indefinite suspension from the NFL.

"The key facts are now settled, and Vick was centrally involved in a criminal syndicate built around dogfighting. It is fitting that the NFL has suspended him," stated Wayne Pacelle, president and CEO of The Humane Society of the United States.  "He's now a role model for something terrible, and it's not appropriate that he suit up in an NFL uniform."
