The battle between The HSUS and Amazon.com over Amazon.com's sales of animal fighting materials has been brewing since The HSUS first asked Amazon.com to remove animal fighting materials from the site in 2005.
Since then, public awareness of animal fighting has risen to an all-time high. Now, just as the federal and state governments and law enforcement agencies across the country are cracking down on illegal animal fighting, Amazon.com seems to be digging in its heels to do exactly the opposite.
Selling publications teeming with advertisements for upcoming cockfights, cockfighting tools and fighting-cock breeders—specifically two magazines called The Gamecock and The Feathered Warrior—Amazon.com is violating not just common decency but also federal law. Read more >> |
