No Jokes About Animal Cruelty
Comedian Elayne Boosler doesn't joke around when it comes to
animal cruelty. She is a strong supporter of The HSUS First
Strike™ Campaign, which works to educate the public about the
connection between animal cruelty and violence toward
humans.
Elayne joined The Humane Society of the United States in
soliciting then Alabama Governor Don Siegelman's support to
re-open a state animal cruelty case that allowed a horrific
crime to go unpunished. The governor responded promptly,
stating full support for The HSUS efforts, and assigned the
case for review to explore every possible legal means of
successful prosecution. She continues to support our efforts on
the First Strike campaign.
Elayne is currently on the road, making people laugh and
helping animals by donating 100% of the proceeds from her
merchandise sold at her concerts to local animal groups in each
city.
Tails of Joy, a not-for-profit organization founded by
Elayne, strives to help rescue groups work more efficiently
together to better achieve their common goals. It also helps
individual animals.
She has a particular soft spot for boxers, and lives with
one, Shnuffy, and a black lab named Wiley.
Make no jokes about it—Elayne Boosler supports animal
protection.
