Our spay days take place on a Saturday every month and we are aiming to sterilize over 2000 animals from underprivileged
homes by 2010. We sterilize 90 animals a month currently. The SPCA inspectors visit the poorest of the poor to collect dogs or cats for our spay days.
We do not receive any money from the government. We rely on our corporate donors to help fund our day to day operations. We very seldom receive any any compensation from the disadvantaged owners of the animals we treat.

We will hand out leaflets and talk to people about the importance of spaying/neutering companion animals. All volunteers will wear GEPDA T-Shirts. We will try to have a table but we need to ask authorization for this from the local goverment.
Ashes and Snow (the international exposition of a famous photographer) will be on display in Zócalo by that date. The Mexican media has been widely announcing it. Therefore, we believe it is a great opportunity to hold the event in that place due to the high amount of people visiting the exposition.

Event:
- February 11-17, 2008
In and around Beirut
We have approximately 100 animals in our shelters who need to be spayed or neutered, and from February 11th to the 17th we will be bringing in a foreign vet to operate on these animals.
This vet will come in and once and for all our animals will all be spayed and neutered. He will also provide training to two of the local vets here on young age spay/neuter techniques, as currently no vet in Lebanon can do this. There will also be time to s/n some of the 'hoarding' situations we know about, mainly people whose situation has gotten out of hand for some reason and who are now dealing with a growing population.
The majority of the work will be carried out between the 11th and 17th of this month, and will take place in and around Beirut. We are using volunteers, as well as the staff and goodwill of the vet clinics we normally use.
