Past workshops conducted by Humane Society International have included: Companion Animals: Issues and Answers, a three-day workshop in
St. Petersburg, Russia, July 8-9, 2004, co-hosted with EarthVoice, Russia. Sixty-one individuals from 15 countries in the region attended this by-invitation-only workshop. Companion Animals: Issues and Answers, a two-day workshop in Moscow, Russia, May 15–16, 2003, co-hosted with EarthVoice, Russia. Forty-five individuals from ten countries in the region attended this by-invitation-only workshop. The Second Pan African Animal Welfare Workshop in Lakefield, Benoni, South Africa, in September 2002, which drew 60 participants from four countries. The Asia for Animals conference held in May 2001 in Manila, the Philippines. The second neo-tropical Conference on Wildlife Protection San Jose, Costa Rica, June 1999, which drew more than 150 participants.
