Todd Oldham, one of today's most important designers of fashion and home furnishings, has more on his mind than just style, fashion, and beauty. He has been a long time opponent of the use of real fur in fashion, and is dedicated to only using synthetic materials in his designs.
Oldham has been on the fashion and design scene for over 20 years, and is currently working on a variety of photography, product design, graphic design, and interior design projects. Guided by a colorful, modern design philosophy, Oldham has designed clothes for the likes of Julia Roberts and Uma Thurman, a Home collection for Target, wristwatches for Fossil, interiors at The Hotel Of South Beach and most recently an extensive collection for La-Z-Boy. He has also created Todd Oldham perfume for women, authored the book Without Boundaries, hosted shows on MTV, and appears regularly on NBC's Today Show.
Oldham has helped The HSUS's Fur Free Century campaign by partnering with The HSUS and the Fur Free Alliance to judge the inaugural U.S. round of The Design Against Fur contest in New York City in 2003. Oldham also served as a judge for the second annual contest in April 2004. He describes the contest as "a forum for young, up-and-coming art and design students to put their creative talents to work on behalf of animals. An important part of living life is demonstrating compassion for others, animals and the environment."
