More than 500 life-sized cows were on display in New York City for CowParade New York 2000, the first public art exhibit ever staged in all five New York City boroughs.
Among the herd was a very special cow sponsored by The Humane Society of the United States and painted by Ron Burns. Titled A Walk in the Pasture, the cow also carried a message encouraging people to "Celebrate Farm Animals."
The Burns cow now resides at The HSUS headquarters.
