When we first saw Ron Burns' wonderful paintings of dogs and cats, we knew we had to contact him. Because not only are they bold, colorful works that capture the animals' personalities—one might say, even their souls—but Ron is an artist with a true commitment to helping animals. Ever since he began photographing shelter animals to use as subjects for his work, he's given back to the shelter community with donations of his work and financial contributions.
We are proud to have Ron as our Artist in Residence. And what about Ron? He says: "I hope that my work will inspire The HSUS's efforts to protect animals and help the millions of animals in animal shelters who are waiting for good homes. I've met thousands of dogs and cats in shelters across the country who would make great companions. I'm pleased to be able to support the work of shelters, and The HSUS, through my art."
