Bestselling author Linda Lael Miller has written more than 90 novels, filled with adventure, mystery, history, romance and ... animals. Dogs, cats and horses abound in Linda's stories, giving readers a compassionate portrait of the joy and mutual gratitude that result when people and animals share each others' lives.
Linda developed her love and respect for animals as a child, and it has stayed with her throughout her life. Today she lives in Spokane, Wash., with her six horses—one of them a rescue animal named Buck—as well as two dogs and two cats, at last count.
In 2009, this prolific author will release six new books. The first, "Montana Creeds: Logan," shot to #2 on the New York Times mass-market paperback fiction list within a week of its release. Still, despite her hectic schedule, Linda has made time to partner with The HSUS to help spread the message of Pets for Life, which aims to help reduce the number of animals taken to shelters—or otherwise given up on—because of breaks in the human-animal bond.
Linda's advocacy is helping to spread the word to the millions of people who love her work and admire what she has to say. She has generously mentioned Pets for Life and The HSUS in her letter to readers in the front of her books, and includes a pet tip from The HSUS in her monthly e-newsletter to her 40,000 subscribers.
